Taking a step out
I've never mentioned this on my blog until now, I suffer from anxiety. It's a horrible thing to suffer from, especially when people just see you as 'happy' and 'bubbly'. However, there are a few small things I try to do each day to help myself and try to overcome this anxiety, I thought I would share these on my blog incase it could help others.
1. Leave the house at least once a day. This may sound silly but in the past there were weeks, even MONTHS when I didn't leave the house but now I motivate myself, whether it be for lectures, meeting up with a friend or work. Just leaving the house, seeing the outside world once a day has really helped.
2. Join a society. This is more for if you're at university. Joining a society may seem like a terrifying idea however, meeting new people who share the same interests and passion as you really helps. I joined the anime, comics and gaming society at my university and I have met so many lovely people, and made some wonderful new friends. Also, you don't have to do this alone, I joined the society with friends.
3. Do something once a day that's out of your comfort zone. This sounds a bit overboard however my comfort zone is VERY small! By this I mean calling people, going to a friends house. More recently, I have tried to help at least one stranger a day and the kindness of people really helps to settle my nerves.
4. Talk to someone. If i'm ever feeling anxious or down I now ALWAYS talk to someone, I used to bottle everything up and make myself feel a hundred times worse, talking to someone is incredibly important.
These are a few of the things I try to do each day. Anxiety is awful but if you try making your own goals like this, it too could help you.
Thanks for reading!
Bye for now!

Looking back.
First of all I'm sorry i've been away and not been blogging for the past couple of weeks, my Gran passed away so i've been spending time with my family and close friends.
I wanted to do a post on looking back at some of my favourite memories from the past year or so.
1. The last film I worked on (I was sound designer) in my first year at university being accepted into a film festival.
2. Going to the Harry Potter studios (last year) as a present for getting into university.
3. Going to Berlin film festival and spending three days in Berlin being tourist-y, having a laugh and drinking HUGE beers!
4. Meeting the most wonderful boyfriend.
5. When my best friends in the entire world came to visit me at university.
It's good to look back on your favourite memories of years gone by.
What are some of yours?
I should be blogging more often now, although there will be a slight pause whilst i'm moving into my new house at uni!
Bye for now! x

How to survive the first year of university.
As I said in my last post I have recently finished my first year of university so I thought I would give five useful tips on how to survive the first year university!
1) MONEY! There may seem to be a lot of freedom at university with money but it's SO important to remember to save money. Having a student loan may seem amazing but it's scary how easy it is to loose track of spending, so remember to not go wild with it in the first few weeks at uni. (A hint to save on alcohol, split bottles of spirits with your flatmates and use juice rather than expensive fizzy drinks for mixers!)
2) If you're moving into halls, keep your door wide open on moving in day. It's such an easy way to meet your flatmates and make some friends on your first day. Don't isolate yourself in your room otherwise you may find yourself missing out of some pretty good opportunities to meet people. Also, go to as many freshers events as possible, it's such an easy way to meet people (plus the drinks are VERY cheap!)
3) Don't forget about your family and friends back at home. Once you're settled into university and have made friends/friendship groups its easy to forget about home, so don't forget about your loved ones, give them a call!
4) Don't skip lectures. It may seem easy to do this because its not like in school where teachers chase you up, if you don't attend there's no catch up and your lecturer will not stop to catch you up. Also don't leave work until last minute, keep on top of everything to avoid stress and worries.
5) ENJOY IT! My first year of university was such an amazing experience and I have met so many amazing people and made some of the best friends I could ever hope for (I also met my boyfriend, hehe) so just enjoy it. Don't stress out too much and have an amazing time!
I hope this is useful to anyone that's starting their first year of university!
Thanks for reading and if there's anything else you'd like to know comment, or if you're like me and have also just finished your first year comment what you think is important in your first year!
Bye for now! :)
