Taking a step out

I've never mentioned this on my blog until now, I suffer from anxiety. It's a horrible thing to suffer from, especially when people just see you as 'happy' and 'bubbly'. However, there are a few small things I try to do each day to help myself and try to overcome this anxiety, I thought I would share these on my blog incase it could help others.

1. Leave the house at least once a day. This may sound silly but in the past there were weeks, even MONTHS when I didn't leave the house but now I motivate myself, whether it be for lectures, meeting up with a friend or work. Just leaving the house, seeing the outside world once a day has really helped.

2. Join a society. This is more for if you're at university. Joining a society may seem like a terrifying idea however, meeting new people who share the same interests and passion as you really helps. I joined the anime, comics and gaming society at my university and I have met so many lovely people, and made some wonderful new friends. Also, you don't have to do this alone, I joined the society with friends.

3. Do something once a day that's out of your comfort zone. This sounds a bit overboard however my comfort zone is VERY small! By this I mean calling people, going to a friends house. More recently, I have tried to help at least one stranger a day and the kindness of people really helps to settle my nerves.

4. Talk to someone. If i'm ever feeling anxious or down I now ALWAYS talk to someone, I used to bottle everything up and make myself feel a hundred times worse, talking to someone is incredibly important.

These are a few of the things I try to do each day. Anxiety is awful but if you try making your own goals like this, it too could help you.

Bye for now!

Eye Shadow Palette's

Cashmere Eye Shadows - £6 Next
Barry M Super Shadow & Primer Palette - £6.49 Superdrug
Hi!

I've been really eye shadow crazy at the moment, I love mixing and blending colours together to make unique styles especially during the festive season with all the Christmas parties!

I'm super happy I found this eye shadow palette in Next, it's the same colours as one of the Urban Decay range but so much more cheaper! The eye shadows last all day without needing to be refreshed and the colours are wonderfully pigmented.

The Barry M eye shadow palette comes with a primer however, this primer is disappointing. It crumbles and leaves the eyeshadow to look tacky. On their own, the eyeshadows are beautiful, there's a lovely range of colours including a sparkly golden shade perfect for party season. High street eye shadow palette's are definitely getting better and I am becoming more impressed with them each time a try a new one.

What are your favourite high street eye shadows?

Thanks for reading!

Bye for now. :)

Been away a while.

Hi!

As you've probably noticed I've been away from blogging for quite a while. I had to take a break as I just had a huge amount of university work, filming, editing, pitching, building sets, travelling! Also, at the weekends i've been busy at work, I decided to take a break until I was able to get my work into flow and work out how to balance university work, a job, a social life and my blog! I've finally made a plan therefore... i'm back!

Where have I been?

Follow me on Instagram ! I post pretty much everyday of what I'm up to / where I am. Take a look at my Twitter too.

In November I had the opportunity to go to Amsterdam for the IDFA (International Documentary Film festival Amsterdam) the documentaries I watched were incredible and Amsterdam itself was a beautiful place.

Just a few snippets from Amsterdam! Let me know if you'd like a full post on the trip!

So that's it really, sorry for being away for so long but now I shall be back to blogging every week (hopefully more than once a week)

Bye for now!

Mini Haul

Hi!

Recently, I went for a wander around town and these's are a few of the goodies I picked up:

Snow Fairy shower gel - Lush [x]
Seventeen Stay Pout (It's a Kiss off) - Boots [x]
Maybelline 24h colour tattoo (Metallic Pomegranate) - Superdrug [x]
Seventeen 'Phwoarr' paint (heavy duty eye concealer) - Boots [x]
Seventeen Glitter Nail Effects (Green) - Boots [x] (similar)

Lush have recently brought out their Christmas range (Yay Christmas!!) and I decided to go along and pick up the Snow Fairy shower gel, I always see so many people talk about how gorgeous the smell is and that it's a must have and they aren't wrong! It's the most lovely smell (literally of sweets) ! It has sparkles mixed in too which creates a beautiful purple swirl inside the bottle.

Boots are currently doing a 3 for 2 on Seventeen (cheapest product free) So I decided to take a browse around the range. I've been looking for a Autumn lipstick and I found the most perfect colour for me 'It's a Kiss off' from the 'Stay Pout' Seventeen range is such a gorgeous dark pink. It's a matte lipstick and honestly, it's amazing. I've been wearing it all day without having to top it up, at all (even after drinking copious amounts of tea) I am so pleased I purchased this lipstick.

The next product I picked up from the Seventeen range is the 'Phwoarr Paint' "The One. The hard core concealer to wage war on under eye circles" I have always been troubled with dark circles under my eyes, I've tried so many different concealers but none ever seem to hide them, this concealer is a DREAM. I got it in the Fair shade and it really does wage war on my dark circles. My eyes look more away and brighter and the concealer itself comes in a little compact with a mirror so I carry it around in case I ever need to cover up on the go.

The final product I bought from the Seventeen range was the Glitter Nail effect varnish, I decided to go with Green sparkles because Christmas is just around the corner and I thought it would be perfect to get into the Christmas spirit.

As well as a perfect Autumn lipstick I've also been looking for the perfect Autumn eyeshadow. I've seen many positive reviews on the blogosphere about the Maybelline 24hr colour tattoo so I decided to take the plunge myself and try it out. I got it in the shade 'Metallic Pomegrante' which is a beautiful burgundy/brown shade with a lovely shimmer. I'll do a Make up post soon showing what it looks like!

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed this post.

What make up have you picked up recently?

Bye for now! :)

Tea Tree Treats

Hi! I hope you've all had a lovely week, mines been full of exciting film projects which I am SO excited to start work on. Today's post is a review of two tea tree products which I have been loving recently.

Tea Tree products are a definite must have. They work wonders on spots/blemishes tea tree oil helps to get rid of blackheads (which are a nightmare) ! It also leaves your skin feeling super soft after.

Tea Tree Foaming Facial Wash [x]  - Superdrug £3.29

"Helps to promote a clearer , healthier - looking complexion."
I've been using this product every morning (for about three weeks now) and I can definitely tell the difference. My skin feels more hydrated, yet not too oily it also makes my skin look and feel more awake, helping out with those darn bags under my eyes! The directions say to use one or two pumps (I find that one is enough) and as soon as you wash it off and feel your skin you notice how wonderful this product is, SUPER soft skin! I can really tell a difference after using this product, my skin has been looking healthier (I've even received a few compliments) a definite recommendation from me.

Ignore my terribly chipped nail varnish (whoops)

Tea Tree Face Mask - [x] The Body Shop £10

"Instantly cools and lifts away impurities."
As soon as you apply this face mask you can feel it cooling your skin already (its a strange feeling) but the outcome of this face mask is amazing! Instructions say to leave on for 10-15 minutes I left it on for the latter and when I went to wash it off I looked in the mirror and could see the 'impurities' that the face mask brings out. I really liked the texture of the mask itself unlike the Lush face mask which I reviewed here it has a lovely thick (paint like) texture which for me, feels SO nice, I really enjoyed applying this product it was rather soothing! This again I would absolutely recommend to anyone that like me gets terrible black heads or if you're just looking for a new face mask to try!

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed this post.

Favourite Albums

Hi! First of all I'm so sorry for being away for so long! If you follow me on BlogLovin' then you will have still seen me liking blog posts and creeping! I've been a busy bee moving into my new uni house and catching up with all my university friends and I have had no time for blogging, but now we've all settled in I'll be blogging more often, also I'll be posting OOTD'S (hopefully) twice a week so look out for that!

Onto todays post, I just thought I would recommend a few of my favourite albums from the past year or so:

1. London Grammar - If You Wait This album has such a cool chilled out vibe and I listened to it all throughout summer.
2. Awesome Mix Volume 1 (Guardians of the Galaxy) If you've seen guardians of the Galaxy then you'll already know how AWESOME this album is, the film is modern but has such a 70's feeling thanks to this album, if you haven't listened to it... Just do!
3. Kasabian - 48:13 This Kasabian album was so different to their old music but I absolutely love it. Plus did you see them as Glastonbury?! They rocked it.
4. The Black Keys - Turn Blue Another sweet album from The Black Keys, sos many good songs on there, another album I had on repeated this summer.

I hope you enjoyed this post. What have your favourite albums been this year?

Bye for now. :)

Looking back.

Hi!

First of all I'm sorry i've been away and not been blogging for the past couple of weeks, my Gran passed away so i've been spending time with my family and close friends.

I wanted to do a post on looking back at some of my favourite memories from the past year or so.

1. The last film I worked on (I was sound designer) in my first year at university being accepted into a film festival.

2. Going to the Harry Potter studios (last year) as a present for getting into university.

3. Going to Berlin film festival and spending three days in Berlin being tourist-y, having a laugh and drinking HUGE beers!

4. Meeting the most wonderful boyfriend.

5. When my best friends in the entire world came to visit me at university.

It's good to look back on your favourite memories of years gone by.

What are some of yours?

I should be blogging more often now, although there will be a slight pause whilst i'm moving into my new house at uni!

Bye for now! x

Things That Make Me Happy.

Hi!

I enjoy watching YouTube videos and one of my favourite youtuber's is Carrie (aka, it's way past my bed time) [x] I really appreciate her outlook on life and the positivity that seems to beam out of her. Recently, I stumbled across her blog [x] and saw the post 'Thing's That Make Me Happy' and decided to do it myself.

The rules?

1. They have to be little things that I don't appreciate often enough or take for granted in every day life.

2. I have to fill the WHOLE page.

So here's mine:
I know not all the page is filled but I was in a rush (Sorry)!

I Hope you enjoyed this post and I would love to know what makes you happy!

Bye for now. :)

July Favourites.

Hi! I can't believe there's only a couple of days until August, only one more month and then i'll be moving into my uni house, exciting times! I thought I'd do a post on my favourite finds of July as there have been some particular favourites this month.

Coral Pink bag - I picked this up (brand new) from a charity shop for £5.00. It had never been used and was in perfect condition, I've been using this quite a lot, especially with this nice weather we've been having in England, the colour is perfect for summer.

Garnier BB Cream (Miracle Skin Perfector) - I have been absolutely LOVING this! I got the light shade and I just find it's so perfect to wear in this hot weather. The main thing that drew me to buying this BB Cream in particular was its "Combination to oily skin" promise, meaning it helps fight the oily skin look, and it really does. This is my go to product when its too hot to wear a normal foundation.

Soap & Glory SUPERCAT (Carbon Black) eyeliner pen - I have been looking to try a new eyeliner pen for a while now and I saw this post [x] which urged me into buying the Soap & Glory pen. I am so pleased I did, unlike pervious liquid eyeliners I have used that have a poor brush that runs out VERY fast, the Soap & Glory pen has a felt tip pen which makes everything easier. It's quick and easy to apply and drys super fast.

LUSH Cosmetic Warrior Fresh Face Mask - At first I was going to buy a face mask from The Body Shop but at £12.00 I wanted to save my money so I took a trip into Lush and got talking to a lovely girl that worked in there who suggested I try the Cosmetic Warrior face mask. I have relatively clear skin (because I drink FAR too much water) but I get so many blackheads on my nose, the girl at Lush showed me this product which "combats spots and soothes troubled skins" She told me she uses it herself and would definitely recommend it, so I got it. It is amazing, not only does it leave my skin SUPER soft, the blackheads on my nose have drastically reduced. I use it once every other day in my routine before I go to bed. It cost me £6.00 and you keep it in the fridge, it lasts 3-4 weeks. Admittedly, it does have a funny smell but it is so worth it (and half the price of the face mask from The Body Shop)!

I hope you enjoyed reading this!

What have your favourite things from July been?

Bye for now. :)

Most Marvelous Purchases.

Baby Pink balloon top £8.00, Shot glasses £4.00, Star Trek coasters £6.50, Multicolour genuine leather bag £20.00, Floral picture frame £5.00
Hi! Recently I went into A Most Marvellous Place to Shop [x] and had a tiny bit of a spree, as I only visit when i'm home from university I didn't really hold back on my spending.

Baby pink balloon top - This top is perfect for spring/summer and the balloon pattern is just so adorable!

Shot glasses - I picked up these because they're different to most shot glasses you see and what kind of student would I be without them?!

Star Trek Coasters - I couldn't leave these behind. I had to add these to my collection of 'geeky' things.

Multicolour genuine leather bag - I've seen these bags so many times before in Most Marvelous and this time I decided to go ahead and buy one, I love the different colours and there's three compartments inside, so handy.

Floral picture frame - This cute picture frame is gold with blue gem stones on the flowers. I thought it was too pretty to leave behind and also, I'm looking for small pieces to put in my house i'm moving into with my university friends in September so this is a perfect addition.

Thanks for reading!

What have your most recent purchases been?

Favourite lip products

Hi! I thought I'd make a post on my favourite lip products. I adore lipsticks/gloss but find it so hard to find the perfect ones, here are a few of my favourites.

1. Nivea hydro care [x]  I'll start off with lip care. This is a long lasting lip moisturiser which works wonders! I always have it on me, it keeps me from having dry lips, it's super quick and smooth to apply and it even protects your lips from sun burn.

2. Limited Collection GLOSS (Antique Rose) [x] This too is a product that never leaves my bag. It can come on a little bit thick at times but this lipgloss is long lasting and perfect for a minimal make up look (which I always tend to go for during the summer time) It also comes in a cute shade of pink too.

3. AVON colour trend lipstick [x] This was given to me by a friend a while back and it's perfect for a night out. It's long lasting (even after a few drinks) and it doesn't tend to smudge. The only down side to this product is that it takes a while to apply it properly.

4. Rimmel London Kate Lasting Finish (Kate Moss collection) [x] This lipstick is AMAZING it literally lasts all day without having to reapply it. It's perfect for everyday wear. I got number 22 which is Rouge and it even smells slightly of cherries! This is my favourite lipstick I have ever purchased and I would definitely recommend adding something from the Kate Moss lipstick collection to your makeup bag!

I hope you enjoyed reading! What are your favourite lip products?

Bye for now! :)
